The three maps illustrate how West Park Secondary School has been transformed since 1950 when it was built. From the diagrams it is evident that the main road remained the same throughout the given period of time. Firstly, substantial alterations occurred to the farmland, this has been entirely converted into a sport field in 1980 and reduced in dimension in 2010 to widen the parking area. Consequently, the playground has been partially replaced by the sport field losing approximately 1/3 of its original area. Moreover, significant alterations happened to the houses located in the top left-hand corner in 1950, thirty years later they have been replaced with the science block and the car park. Overall, the school saw significant growth although its recreational facilities did not develop as much as its buildings and parking space.
