The following diagram shows the rain water harvesting technique used in Australia. Rainwater harvesting is ancient and effective technique to conserve water. This technology is commonly used by many households and is called roof top water harvesting system. In this the water is collected by the channels of pipe running at the side of roof of the house. Each house this system installed with them. For this, we need not to have a slant roof. But the above diagram shows houses with slope top. The process is as follows. The efficient channels of pipes take the rainwater underground to the water filter tank to remove all the impurities. Then the filtered water is stored in the storage tank under the ground. From storage it goes to the water treatment plant through pipe installed underground. Water is treated by the chemicals to make it fit for the consumption. Then the pipe takes the satanized and clean water to the houses for use for daily consumption. Rain water harvesting is the best possible way to solve the problem of water crisis.
