Blue whales are the biggest creatures and can be found in oceans all over the world. They have a long and slender body that is bluish-grey on the dorsal side and lighter on the ventral side. The average whale can be 30 meters long, and its weight can be more than 180 tons. They are long-lived creatures, with some living for more than a century. Like other mammals, they breathe air, warm-blooded, body hair, and feed milk to their Babies. The blue whale was able to create extremely loud sounds known as whale songs that they use to communicate with others. They survive on a diet of molluscs, small crustaceans and sometimes small fish and the animals they eat will be determined by the ocean where they live. Blue whales face threats such as attacks by sharks and killer whales and many are injured or killed as a result of crashes with ships or becoming caught up in fishing nets. Blue whales are amazing creatures that need to be saved from extinction.
