The bar chart provides information about the percentage of contribution of agriculture, manufacturing, business and financial sector to the UK economy from 1900 to 2000.
There are two basic general trend: upward and dawnward. As regards the first, business and financial sector started with the lowest percentage at just under 10% and then it increased sharply for ten percent every decade. Finally, it reached a peak of approximately 30% in 2000. It is noticeable that it rose steadily at the first half of the century, while at the second half it climbed significantly.
By contrast, agriculture sector started with the highest percentage at just under a half and increased gradually to just over 50 in 1950. At the second half of the century agriculture contribution decreased dramatically from 50 to 10 and finally reached a bottom in 2000. Manufacturing was the second most significant contribution over the period. It started from around 40 and fell steadily for 5 percent form 1900 to 1950 but at the last half a century it dropped suddenly from almost 40 to 20%
