Modern day working and its impacts

Modern day working and its impacts ra2bo
Work being Done, Today. Receiving your earnings is a right that applies to everyone. In modern times, new ideas and technological advancements are growing at a rate that makes it difficult for people to earn a fair share of their work. This fight has long been going on over the centuries probably from the time when employment was first introduced. Some people engage themselves in taking a stand for their rights and fight for them, and then some take these opportunities for granted and live on concerning with whatever keeps them satisfied. They will neither try nor participate in the betterment of their societies. This “me, myself and I” engagement towards the society leads to one thing, unequal distribution of rights among people. Nowadays, in this era of high-tech advancement, people often work through online sources where there is less face-to-face engagement, and for most, this is their base means of income. Through that, they can become a life influencer, a computer programmer, or a designer and much more which create difficulties for those who are less affiliated with technology, by often providing misleading information or creating an unfair job opportunity system. This type of system can cause people to lose their trust in the government. Caroline Calloway, a 27-year-old, Instagram influencer who gave out fliers online, for a group seminar costing 165$ in different cities and all this without selecting any meeting place. People bought knowingly that there was no venue selected. How was Caroline able to form such an expected gathering? It was the power of her influence covering over 830000 people. It later turned out to be an attempt through “alternately self-flagellating and self-justifying posts on Instagram stories”, said Jody Rosen. People who didn’t keep themselves updated with the time had to pay 165$ to the person who succeeded over her fan following base. Educating yourself is another essential way to get equal rights. Large corporations hire people and use their talent for their gain and in return pay them with whatever the company wants their pay to be. Even though the worker is aware of this they have no other way of getting a paycheck for their talent, so they turn their face to the easiest way possible. Joden highlights this by saying, “Besides, shouldn’t you be grateful to earn any money at all for doing something you love --- something creative? ”. Years ago, this kind of drudgery existed but the return was accordingly. Nowadays, this kind of hard work is redefined into self-help creativity, and it is unfair towards the working class. “Major corporations like Uber and Amazon ferociously oppose unionization. (Uber, along with other ride-share companies, recently spent more than $220 million to support an anti-union proposition in California. )”. These big companies are creating large gaps between a worker class pays and a ceo of any company that Karabell further mentions their ratio nowadays to be “351 to 1”. A taxi driver who must work 9 to 5 in exchange for 15$ labour at Uber corporation and the people who created this app are sitting at one place earning at a staggering rate compared to the worker. Develop countries are making under developing countries work for them. With the advancement going on in today’s world, technology is impacting the world as it has never. As time will pass, technology will keep helping humans in their well-being. Around forty years ago, a piece of tech such as a computer was around “6000$(in today’s dollars)” and today the very best laptop sits around “470$” (Bowels). Anything that becomes available in hefty quantity loses its value and becomes cheaper over time. A screen can be seen around in the hands of, from a psychologically unstable person to the person who looks after them, meaning it is widely available. Like in a new piece of technology is introduced to Mr. Bill, who had grown lonely. This device let Mr. Bill spend quality time and makes him less lonely. “She’s brought my life back to life. ” Human Contact is now a luxury good. The piece of tech or this tech company has workers all around the world, in underdeveloped countries and is being operated from countries like the “Philippines and Latin America” (Bowles). People who work for this company Care. Coach is mostly situated in underdeveloped countries. Countries that would have the kind of time to engage with someone continuously for hours and whenever they are called upon. Technologies always have their pros and cons, like a piece of the screen helped Mr. Bill overcoming loneliness can be a problem for others. As screens are becoming cheaper and becoming widely available from places like cinemas, airports, restaurants, hospitals, to classrooms. They are affecting the people mentally. Some researchers took mental health into account and found out that “Children who spent more than two hours a day looking at a screen got lower scores on thinking and language tests” (Human Contact Is Now a Luxury Good). This can create a long-term impact on the health and wellness of children. Over there in the Care. Coach screens helping its patients through therapeutical ways and have shown a decrease in expenditure on health care plans. The screens will deliver the news of expected death to the patients. There will come a time when people will be able to understand technology better and use it to its full potential towards shaping human development. Technology has created job opportunities for people, but it also robs them of their rights. Generations have seen people fighting for their rights. And among those rights is the right to equal job opportunities. Now, this can be interpreted as the quantity and the quality of jobs. The battle to provide workers with equal rights has long been going on in America and all around the world. And sometimes the labours response can turn into an uprising, bloody battles which will only deteriorate the relation between government and workers because it’s the government that provide its people with the job opportunities. Inequality, ruthless and uncompassionate working conditions were considered, and that horrifying past is what shaped today’s working community. People with money seemed to be in control of the economy and the government was taking their part in it too. As the awareness was growing among the working class, they started taking part in labour unions. One of the main battles that are still recognized in history is the battle of Blair Mountain which formed a ripple effect of a unionized uprising among the worker class. This continuous struggle for equal working rights worked in their favour and at some point, they succeeded but it wasn’t long enough that the workers started to disengage themselves from forming unions and in return saw outcomes that left an impact on the working-class on the government. We are still not far gone to the point of no return. Participating and gaining knowledge of your rights can help gain people rights. There are big corporates that monopolize wages and creates inequality. We can diminish this cooperative monopolization by educating ourselves on such matters, creating awareness among the public by forming unions so their attitude towards equal job opportunities tends to become positive. Now this change cannot be done overnight. As Jerome reported that publics remarks about the working-class are “more positive than they have been in years” and the tables have turned. This unjustness is still known to CEOs and will improve over time through unionized engagements on these matters. Workers have never gained these many rights as opposed to previous centuries where they had to deal with the cruelties and had to live in a disproportionate society. Over the centuries the condition improved through continuous civic engagement but there are still spaces left to fill in the gap. Informing people about the pros and cons of technology and the ways to deal with it, improving the lives of people, creating equality among the public physically and mentally will lead to equal work rights among the society. The working quality will keep on improving through the struggles that led to today’s change and who knows maybe will improve in regard to the Work being done, Today.
