Dear Tim, I am writing in connection with your recent noise complaint. I apologize for the inconvenience it might have caused but we didn’t intend to trouble anyone. Let me explain the situation in a little more detail. My son graduated last week and he asked for permission to celebrate the occasion with his friends and promised not to make noise and keep the party going any later than 4 pm on Saturday. We did inform about the party to all our neighbors, but unfortunately, you and your family were not in town. My wife and I were planning to stay home and watch over the kids but we had to leave them alone as my wife had a doctor's appointment on the same day which he forgot when granting permission to my son. When we returned home after the appointment at 2 pm, we were informed about the complaint. My family and I are apologetic about the whole situation.
