Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this letter regarding the concerns and possible effects on closing the local sport and leisure center. I understand that closing the centre can save a significant amount of money, but I feel like the disadvantage outweighs the benefits. Firstly, I would like to describe how we use the centre in the local community. My grandparents often go there to play badminton with their friends, and it can help them to maintain a good health. I always hang out with my friends there to workout or swim. I met several of my best friends from the centre too, and I started to go there since I was 5 years old. The centre is full of fun and unforgettable memories with my friends and family. Secondly, I will explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community. People from the community can enjoy and access the facilities and exercises machines in the centre. It can keep us fit, release the stress and maintain a good health. On the other hand, it allows people to meet up and make friends with each other. It helps with improving the social connection and develop as a better community. The possible effects on local people if the centre closes are significant. People won’t be able to access to free or relatively lower cost sports centre. It will affect the health of the local people especially the elders. Moreover, local people won’t have a place to meet new people or gather arounf with their friends and family. It will affect the whole atmosphere of the community. Overall, I feel like the sport and leisure centre is essential to the local community. I hope the local council can reconsider the plan of closing the centre.
