You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter: • Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college • Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her • Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Simon, Thank you for your letter. I highly appreciate that you value my opinion and in order to provide you best advice for way forward I have given due regard to your alternatives taking into account pros and cons of each option. I truly believe the college will be boring for you and you will not benefit much from it. The main reason for this is your previous educational background which will mainly overlap with your college activities in terms of curriculum. In other words, I believe you already studied and obtained the major part of that knowledge that is expecting you in selected course. On the other hand, getting some practice and learning how to apply your knowledge in a work conjuncture would be great for you. They say education knows the rules, while experience knows the exceptions. With this in mind, I would advice you to jump in the business life and supplement your accumulated knowledge with relevant hands-on-job learning and skills. In my opinion, you should try to get a job in a dynamic environment where you can grow up together with company. This could be a start-up company developing its own product and trying to gain some market share. I hope my advice helps you in making right decision. See you soon.
