You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work. Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In your letter describe the situation explain your problems and why it is difficult to work say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to bring your attention to a difficulty I have been forced to confront due to the current sharing arrangement of my college room. I share room 702 at South college building with my roommate Daniel Frances. I am so sorry to let you know that ever since David moved in last Summer I have not been deprived of peaceful enjoyment of college room. To put it bluntly, we have very incompatible individual behaviors and I find it very hard to adjust to some of his routines which I consider very disruptive by any standard. While I agree that I'm required to adapt to compromise to a reasonable extent when living in shared accommodation, what I have to put up with is by no means reasonable. David stays up all night and plays loud music which is very disturbing to both my sleep as well as my studies. I have a hard time trying to concentrate when he is in the room as he makes phone calls moving up and down the room. Although I have very politely told him that I need to focus on my studies he is oblivious to the fact that the room is for both of us. What really tipped the scale for me is that he has no regard to hygiene. He does not follow the cleaning procedures as advised by the management. This is especially dangerous behaviour especialyy during the current pandemic. Also, I have noticed food leftovers lying around his section of the room making the room smell very unpleasant. In addition to that, he smokes inside the room while I am out for my work or lectures and I find ash remaining on top of furniture in the living area of the room. I have talked to him and explained a couple of times however I have not seen any improvement in his behavior. Therefore, as the last resort I am informing you hoping you will understand my concerns and suggest an immediate solution for it. I would prefer a single room where I would not have to share even if comes at the cost of transferring to another college. Trust you would address this issue at your earliest. Yours sincerely
