I am writing this letter to notify you of an alteration to the plan for our scheduled trip to New York City. However, I regret to inform you that there has been a change to the plan as I have to supervise a vital project at work. It's an unexpected project that coincides with the date of our planned vacation and will require my utmost attention and expertise.
