You arranged to visit a friend in Canada but an important event at home now means that you must change the dates of the visit. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter • explain the important event • apologise for the situation • suggest a new arrangement

Hi Sarah, I hope everything is fine at your end. I’m writing this letter to update you regarding my next month’s trip to Canada. Unfortunately, due to certain unforeseen circumstances, I’ll not be able to come to visit you on the dates which we finalized a week ago. Well, next month is my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my sister has decided to throw a party for them. Although, their wedding date is in the first week of February but my sister has her finals during that week. So now we’ve decided to have the event on the last Saturday of February which is the same day I had intended to depart. I sincerely apologize because I know you’ve had to go through a lot of trouble with your boss so that he could give you holidays during the said dates. However, I was wondering to re-schedule my trip for December during the Christmas holidays; do let me know if it’ll suit you so we can plan further. Best wishes, Ifrah.
