You are working for a company. You need to take some time off work and want to ask your manager about this. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter: • Explain why you want to take time off work • Give details of the amount of time you need • Suggest how your work could be covered while you are away

Dear Sir, I am writing to kindly request you to provide me with a week off in the first half of July. As you are aware and following your valuable advises I have been continuing with development of my qualifications through part-time attendance of educational courses on Mechanical Engineering. The course is now over with the final examinations being planned to the second half of July. Although I have been a diligent attendant of the said courses, the volume and advanced level of the course contents make me feel a dedicated preparation would be beneficial to ensure my success. As explained above, I would need a one week off in the first half of July, preferably between 8-15 July with limited or no access to my e-mail and other tasks. However, I will ensure that my absence does not have any negative impact on the current workflow and with that purposes I categorized my current tasks into two elements: the first category consisting of short- or medium-term tasks and comprising the majority of my current undertakings will be finalized and completed by myself by the July. The second list of tasks with longer duration I will assign to different team members and will have separate one to one session with each of them to clearly describe the task, objectives, requirements, and timelines. Upon your request, I can provide more details on current statuses of my work closer to my absence. Thanks and yours sincerely, Islam Khalilov
