Dear Sir, I am an international student in my second year of the Business program at the college. I am a full-time student, living in the college residence. I am writing this letter to ask for permission to be absent for almost seven days. The work placement program has been repealed this summer. I am concerned that I won't be able to attend the program this summer as I have my cousin's wedding in my home country and my family expects me to be there. Although the wedding will be for only two days, traveling and preparations would consume the time. I would be grateful if you allow me to be absent for a week. I will try to cope with the work of the work placement program as soon as I return from the wedding. I have attached the invitation card the proof to present to the organizers of the program.
