Nowadays, many things has changed since a lot of technologies were introduced as alternatives for things people used and relied on for thousands of years, including paper letters. People these days are using electronic mail instead of conventional mail to communicate with each other. since I fully agree with this fact, I will give reasons and provide examples to support my opinion in the following essay. Electronic mail or what is known as email was introduced about 30 years ago along with the internet, the need for paper letters was reduced and rarely used since this technology has been introduced. Currently, emails are being used for all kinds of communication. For example, chatting with friends, sending work documents to colleagues or sending applications for job opportunities and so many other forms of communication. In the last decade, a new form of communication and has emerged and is being used all over the globe. This new communication method involves multiple communication applications on the Internet. These applications such as Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp. . etc are known as social media. Nowadays, social media are used on a daily basis by all people of different ages and backgrounds around the world. Due to social media's convenience, low-cost and timesaving, most people use them for communication and entertainment as well. In conclusion, I personally believe that writing letters is not the most effective and convenient communication method currently, due to the fact that there have been more convenient options introduced through the internet such as email and social media.
