Dear Dr Rokison-Woodall,
I hope you are the right person to contact with questions about the "MA Shakespeare and Education". If not, please accept my apologies and forward my mail to the right person, if possible. Thank you in advance.
Since I discovered the opportunity to study "Shakespeare and Education", I have been totally thrilled by this idea. I work in the cultural sector, and I've loved Shakespeare's works for years, so I have thought about specialising in this field for a while.
Because English is not my native language, this wish comes with some anxiety. I am afraid to fail, so I want to prepare as good as I can. Therefore, some questions came to my mind, and I'd be very thankful if you could answer them.
First, I haven't studied English but have a master's degree in Cultural Management and Education (grade 1, 4). Is this sufficient for applying to the MA?
Second, in case my application is rejected - could I apply again in the following year? If this is possible, I will give it a try in 2022. If I get only one chance, I might wait and prepare for another year, because this is really important for me.
Third, I have no sample of written work to submit right now. Although a while ago, I conceptualised and realised a choir concert based on musical renderings of Shakespearean texts - would it be appropriate to hand in a project outline?
I'm looking forward to your reply and hopefully to meeting you next year for the MA studies.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Juliane Sattler
