Dear Ms Begg, I am writing to inform you that the main water pipe burst on 1 May 2018 in the apartment I rented and I require you to take immediate action to remedy the situation. On 1 May 2018 at 10. 00 a. m. , I noticed a large seepage of water on the kitchen floor, and traced the source to a spot on the kitchen wall. I immediately called the building superintendent for his assistance. The building superintendent’s investigation revealed that the main water pipe running through the apartment had burst, and he turned off the water mains to ensure the situation did not become more dire. Unfortunately, that meant that I have had no access to water in my apartment since. In addition, when the leak happened, the water spread onto some books that I had kept in the kitchen, and completely ruined them as the pages are now stuck together. I would appreciate if you could send a plumber over immediately to repair the main pipe, at your cost. Please inform me in writing by tomorrow when your plumber will be able to attend to the matter. In addition, I would also like you to replace the books that have been damaged by the leak. I have enclosed a list of the titles with this letter, as well as pictures of the damaged books for your perusal. Please feel free to contact me on my mobile phone if you need further information or need to discuss the situation. Thank you. Yours sincerely, Christine Gee
