There will be a traditional celebration in your country and you want to invite your friend from an English-speaking country. Write him/her a letter and - invite your friend, - explain what happens at the party, - describe the tradition and why it’s important in your country, - say why it is important for your friend to be there.

Hi Eliana, Hope this letter find you in a good health. I am writing this letter to invite you for one of our traditional festival Diwali. I remember, last year you went back to your country for your much awaited job just a week before this occasion and you missed all the customs and traditions we have, but this year I want you to join us and enjoy every bit of the party. This is one festival which all Indians celebrate as it is celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. The preparation starts with lightening our houses almost a week before buying new clothes and on the day of Diwali we worship god Ganesha and goddess Lakshmi, host dinner for family and friends, burn crackers and, dress up in traditional Indian attire which you know very well! There is lot of fun and frolic. Ever since I finished my graduation and you went back to your country; I have been talking so much about you to my parents that they want to meet you eagerly. Moreover, it will help to in your new project about “Tradition and Cultures around the World”. We will be honored to have you as our guest during your entire stay here. We will be please if your family can also join and we assure to make your stay a pleasant one. Hoping to see you soon. Yours lovingly, hsdg
