Amid this booming era of globalization, it is becoming more and more apparent that profound knowledge of how distinct areas such as business, laws, or economy are interconnected will be beneficial to all world citizens. Therefore, International Relations is a field of study that shall offer me the opportunity to understand the deepest roots of such interactions.
In high school, History, Geography, and English are among my top-favorite subjects. Each of them provides me with new insights into different corners of modern life and helps me develop critical thinking skills. Besides, learning about things outside the realm of seeable daily life through knowledge and information has always been intriguing.
I am aware of how seemingly “far-fetched” international and national affairs can affect every aspect of our daily lives. Yet, it baffles me that many people around me are indifferent towards politics and global issues.
But it was not until when my mother traveled back from Singapore with a book that I became determined to pursue a career related to International Relations. The book narrates different stories of illegal immigrants and other individuals involved in the 2015 European refugee crisis. It also provides deep insights into the hidden motivation of many people finding themselves on the refugee trail. It is regrettable that such tragedies still happen elsewhere around the globe. Hence, I am motivated to make a holistic impact on society and improve our world by tackling such humanitarian problems.
My interest in European/Asia-Pacific politics and Poland’s historical ties with Vietnam is why I choose Poland as an ideal destination for higher study. Furthermore, the country’s unique history, culture, scenery, and lifestyle have always appealed to me since I was a secondary student. And above all, my burning desire to step out of my comfort zone and try new things plays the most significant role in my decision to apply for undergraduate programs in Poland. I am confident that enrolling in similar courses in Poland will give me opportunities to enhance my understanding of global affairs and other personal skills.
Since Vietnam is still a developing country, there are still many urgent social problems that policymakers need to solve, from local issues such as poverty to transnational ones like human trafficking. On the other hand, people who specialize in law, public policies, economics, and the art of diplomacy are now sought after by both governmental and non-governmental institutions. As a visionary, analytic, and independent individual with a keen on world affairs, I can see myself being an enthusiastic staff of international cooperations, governmental projects, ministers, or foreign embassies and benefiting my native country in my unique way.
Because there is constant change in the world situation, the subject of global issues and international affairs proves to be both demanding and rewarding to each of its students. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that help expand my knowledge in International Relations at a Polish university.
