Dear Sir,
With due respect, I'm writing this letter in reference to the interview which I passed recently. My name is Jay Kumar and I recently cleared a job Interview for the position of a Software Engineer at the Software Infrastructure Group corporate office, New Delhi. I was expected to join the office on December 10th as agreed, but unfortunately, I will be unable to present myself on that date.
During the interview, I estimated that 15 days time will be sufficient to complete the project on which I'm working as a team leader in the present company and will be able to join your company on the fixed date. I was very keen and enthusiastic about my joining but regrettable, last week I met with a minor accident and nearly for a whole week I was unable to work. As a part of my duty, I don't want to leave the project incomplete for my current company. It will take a week to complete it. If necessary, I can give a letter from my doctor informing that I had stayed home for a week under medical care.
I really apologize for the inconvenience and expect it not to affect my image and relationship with the new company. I'm ready to produce other evidences if required or to talk to senior staff to specify me limitations.
Hoping for a kind consideration.
Yours faithfully, Jay Kumar
