Dear Sarah, I am writing this letter to express my honest apology for damaging the book you have lent me last month. I wanted to inform you earlier but needed some time to try to fix the issue before sending this message. I feel so guilty because i could not keep it in safe hands but believe me this all happened suddenly by mistake. While i was in the bathroom, my little child took a cup of water and poured it on the reading table. Unfortunately i could not dry it as most of the pages were corrupted and ink everywhere so no possibility to repair it again. I know how much this book means to you as it was your last birthday gift from your brother who lives in USA. However i have sent you by post office a new version of same book and expected to arrive you next week hoping you can accept it. Again, i am so sorry for all of this but the circumstances were out of my control and hope you can forgive me totally. Best wishes
