Dear Mr Thomas,
Hope you’re doing well. I’m writing this letter regarding our discussion we had a week back on my decision of moving out and joining a new company from next month onwards.
Thank you for considering my resignation and finalising the release date promptly. As you are already aware, I was working as a Process Trainer with Fidelity Investments for one of the Retail Operations Team in India. My core job responsibilities were to ensure the internal training for the department is completed in a timely manner and making sure that the standard operating procedures are up-to-date to be utilised effectively for training and reference purposes.
From next month, I will be joining KPMG as Training Manager and will be mainly responsible for conducting induction and orientation training for new staff members hired for any department across India. Though most of the key tasks will remain same as I had it here, however, it is an opportunity for me to learn how KPMG’s hiring process works and induction training are being conducted as with Fidelity my scope was limited to the inter-department training only.
As we have worked together for 4 years, I would like to request you to write a reference letter for me which is a mandatory background check requirement from KPMG’s HR department before the joining date – 01 September. In addition to this, they may also call you for feedback on my previous role.
I will look forward to a positive response.
Yours sincerely, Harjeet
