Your publications in the field of organic synthesis, carbohydrate, and peptide chemistry were so exciting to me. I have studied some of your recent articles, specially your report in total synthesis of a Tumor-Associated Carbohydrate Antigens (TACA) with details. Syntheses similar to yours, with the purpose of cancer treatment, are so valuable and interesting to me, and I am extremely interested in the total synthesis of bioactive compounds. Your key step in synthesis of this compound was Nguyen’s glycosidation. For this purpose, you utilized palladium, a promoter, in order to chelate to nitrogen of TCA, and provide the ground for formation of β-glycosides. Even though, if you investigated much more palladium salts, and did a computational analysis to prove the exact mechanism, it would be more worthy. Moreover, I studied your article about Diels-Alder reaction between furan and maleimide. Your computational analyses made your work more valuable and reliable. For further investigations, increasing the selectivity of reaction in order to get only one stereoisomeric cycloadducts would be worthy. Also, raising the scope of reaction could be a great target. I was extremely interested in synthesis, especially synthesizing bioactive compounds. Therefore, I chose medicinal chemistry as my field of study. Throughout bachelor, I was the top student in organic chemistry courses. To pass my master’s internship course, I worked under supervision of Dr. Majid Hamzeloo in chemistry physics lab, University of Tehran. The main topic of my research was the study of physio-chemical properties of several drugs to increase their absorption time. This limited research gave me the opportunity to push my knowledge boundaries further. My greater curiosity and interest in chemistry pushed me to pursue my education and led me to several achievements in my field of study. During my master, I had 5 lectures in the field of medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and synthesis. My lectures in biochemistry were entitled "DNA Polymerase II" and "Antiviral Nucleoside analogues" and the other in the field of medicinal chemistry was about "Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease "and introducing some common medicines for this prevalent disease. My master’s thesis was entitled " Synthesis of 2H-Azirines and their usage in designing of new reactions". I tried several reactions with this highly potent ring, and I didn’t never give up until getting an acceptable result. I synthesized 23 derivatives of my final product in a limited time. As you studied my research experience, I was also able to get an excellent response by using a totally different electrophile (Iodine), and I synthesized 5 derivatives of this target product, during just one week. During my master thesis, I tried to focus on improving my skills in organic synthesis, and Joining Balalaie’s research group gave me the opportunity to gain communicative and teamwork skills as well as Specialized skills in synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds. Finally, I hope you accept me as one of your group’s member to be able to play a crucial role in your research activities which I have prepared myself as well as I could.
