Dear Mr Thompson, I am writing to you with regard to a computer course that was advertised on our college notice board. If allowed, I'd very much like to enrol for it despite not having any computing background. I am a fine arts student at our university and even though I have never studied computers as a subject, I have always been interested in it. For instance, I am well versed in Java and C++ language. In addition, I can also perform a bit of coding. These skills were picked up on my own by simply watching videos on the internet. The notice specified that the course is available for students who have already finished an elementary course in computing. Since I am not from this faculty, I probably do not qualify for the same. Therefore, I would like to ask you if a special consideration can be given to my circumstances and an exception can be made in my case. I assure you that I would be able to cope up with the course and am willing to put in extra hours of study if required. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Elma Harris
