Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this letter to express my interest in applying for a part-time voluntary job position at your museum after learning about it from a local newspaper recently. I want to get this job because it will bestow me with an excellent opportunity to learn about the art and history of my country more directly. After all, your museum has some of the most valuable pieces of arts and artefacts from an era which was almost forgotten. Besides, this work would also offer me an opportunity for community involvement. Regarding my skills and qualifications, I have a rather easy-going personality, and I also have excellent communication skill, which would make it easy for me to get along with the visitors to your museum. I have also worked as a part-time hotel receptionist. So I do know a thing or two about dealing with different kinds of people and great customer service. Therefore, based on my enthusiasm, skills and experience, I think that I should be able to render a great service to your museum. I am available to work every day from 2: 00 pm to the closing hours. I hope you would spare a few of your precious moments to meet me to further discuss my candidacy for the post. Yours faithfully, Jim Buchanan
