A friend of yours has recently written to you asking for advice about a problem at work. You have had a similar problem at your workplace in the past. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter tell your friend how you feel about the problem explain how you faced a similar situation in the past suggest possible solutions to the problem

Dear Mark, Hope you're doing good. I received your letter and I'm glad that you approached me as have been in a similar situation in the past. It is tough to swallow things when we don't receive good appraisals and a promotion, despite excellent performance through out the financial year. I faced the same problem a couple of years ago, where I was denied a Senior Associate position, because my senior colleagues were not promoted and I also received hikes well below industry standard. It was very disheartening and discouraging as I planned my future accordingly. To weather the storm, I raised the issue to my Manager as well as the Legal and Compliance team. They assessed my performance and presented the rewards I deserved. Keeping this in mind, if you are confident about your work then take the complaint to the next level and see if you can get desired results. I'd hope and pray that you get what you truly deserve.
