Dear John, How have you been? I’m so happy to hear that you are moving to Auckland, which is the best place to live in New Zealand, specially the city centre in the start. I suggest to begin your search from the main city centre for a short-term accommodation as the rent in this area is quite affordable. In the alternative, Mount Eden is not a bad second choice to consider if you don’t find anything suitable in the start, This would also help in reducing your travelling time as the suburb is centrally located. Unfortunately, public transport is horrible here in Auckland as there is no proper train service to speak off and the buses are never on time. My suggestion would be to consider buying a car the first week you are here so as to make travelling around the city much easier for you, specially when you have to meet all your new friends. If you every get lonely you could always give me a call and we could catchup for a coffee, otherwise going for a pottery class is good way to meet people in our age group as a lot of immigrantes do the same. I am really happy that you are shifting here and can’t wait to see you. Lots of love, Mat
