It is argued among people that the disadvantages of having a car outweigh not having one. Although cars are the most convenient and the fastest mean of transportation, I believe they are the main source of the air pollution. The main advantage of owing a car is the comfortability that the drivers can have. Car owners have the full freedom to play their favorite music they want, set-up the air condition temperature, do phone calls, adjust the seat levels, and will avoid being in the crowd. Furthermore, cars are the quickest mean to commute to any destination rather than buses or trains since they always have to do multiple stops. For example, the latest study published by Oxford University shows that professionals who reach work through owned cars are more efficient by 23% at work than those who come via public transportation. On the other hand, cars are the main reason for air pollution. Nowadays, most cars run on fuel, when the car burns the fuel, it emits a harmful gas called carbon monoxide. This gas is being mixed with the air that we breath, inhaling this polluted air is extremely harmful for humans. For instance, few weeks back, I read an article that was posted on Financial Times, explaining that the main factor behind the increase of global warming is the result of the car emissions. Moreover, a medical journal that was released last year stated that 87% of the lung cancer cases are coming from the city where the use of cars is higher. In conclusion, despite the convenience and luxury we get while using cars, we must think about how harmful and dangers it is on our planet and health.
