You can always share what you are going through with them during difficult times and be sure that they understand you and support you. On the other hand, it is beneficial to have buddies who does not always agree with you and have different views toward different subjects. When you have a mate, who is not similar to you, you can learn many different things from them as they look at every matter in a different way than you. For instance, when you have a non-smoker friend, she or he can alarm you regarding the harms of smoking rather than having friends who all smoke.
