Since social media has become increasingly renowned over the past decade, being an Internet superstar can be done by almost anybody. Whereas there are those who claim that this trend brings positive impact to children, I believe that this trend brings more negative issues to children. In this essay, the deleterious side of this problem will be discussed. To begin with, it cannot be denied that being famous provides positive effects to children. This is because they may have special treatment whenever they go from special seats at theaters to special tables at restaurants. They are given the advantage of being the preferred customers everywhere they go. Moreover, many opportunities arise when people are popular which can help poor children to become wealthier. On the other hand, there is no privacy for child celebrities which means they can attract stalkers such as paparazzi. They are often followed or harassed by phone, email, or mail by fans or followers who cross the line and become obsessed. Therefore, they are always aware of everyone near them. Furthermore, the Internet and social media makes children believe that they could be common without studying. This is very detrimental for the younger generation because studying assists them to gain their knowledge and creativity that can make them to become influenced in the future. To conclude, although this trend brings many advantages to children, it cannot deny that the drawbacks outweigh the benefits.
