I would love to express my sincere gratitude to the department of XXxx university for considering my applica-tion for the Ph. D. Being a Swedish institute scholarship holder; I'm glad to complete the post-graduate degree in water resources engineering at Lund University in Sweden. Also, I have completed my bachelors' degree with a full scholarship by the Sri Lankan government to study at Indian State University. Being a citizen of a developing country, I would not have been able to reach a relatively high academic level without a Strong passion for constant learning and skills development. I believe the consistent dedication to ac-ademics since childhood made me end up in the academic sector. Being a lecturer at a state university in Sri Lanka for more than a year made me always encourage constant learning for student's questions. Continuous teaching and learning experience while gathering research skills is my reason to apply for Ph. D. All my feelings and energies are more favorable to achieve this goal. The majority of research projects were team task where I had to work with international students. The final year project in Bachelors was related to physical model simulating for geotechnical engineering. Our team was se-lected as the best project in all branches. Since then, I was more interested in Geotechnical engineering. There-fore I did a post-graduate diploma at the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka. My PG diploma thesis also based on a dynamic analysis of a soil column. Further, I did consultancy works on foundation designs. Thus I wish to select the XXXX program.
