In my opinion, I hope I can study more about the culture, history, and society of the US through the American literature course. First of all, in the Society and Culture of American course, I have already known some features of the US: American Values and Belief, Government and Politic, American Family, Education, etc. One of the most things I am interested that the American dream was emphasized positively: The people from the rag to the rich actually have the equality of their dream. All people are lived and be able to make the dream come true. Second, I want to know more Semantic of Literature. In this course, I found out the figure of speech: Metaphor, Personification, Metonymy, etc. So that in this subject, I will clearly understand how to use them. Third, the course is the first step to research the literature, after that how to know literary criticism.
