These masonry blocks were then tested using the compressive strength test, breaking load test, water absorption test and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) test after undergoing curing for 28 and 90 days. From the research findings, it was found that the highest compressive strength of the masonry block was obtained at ratio of 1: 1 of POFA and fly ash. There was an increasing breaking load trend with increasing percentages of fly ash replacement. In terms of durability, all masonry blocks had satisfied water absorption requirements of ASTM C55-11. This short-term investigation revealed that POFA-fly ash based masonry block had the potential to be used in construction.
