To what extent are human rights protected today?

To what extent are human rights protected today? ABGnN
Human rights, applied to all ci7zen regardless of wealth, have been given since birth to death. This including rights to address free speech, access to basic educa7on albeit the fact that in some na7ons their rights are heavily restricted by the government. In Britain, for instance, also have the human rights act that are well-protected and published in 1998. The root of human rights in the UK came from many developments such as the Magna Carta and bill of rights in 1215 and 1689, respec7vely. In different countries across the world, on the other hand, perceived the support from United Na7ons to set out the universal framework upon Human rights so called “The Universal Declara7on of Human rights or UDHF”. Secondly, there is a problema7c concep7on with United Na7on Human Rights. They do not have the authorita7ve power to conceal civil liber7es in a variety of countries. In the real life scenarios, the officials of each na7on are highly likely to be responsible for preserving human rights. Therefore, different na7ons have different range in terms of human right protec7on. This can be seen that Norway has the best protec7on and North Korea has the worst among all countries in the world. This essay will be clearly elaborate the informa7on regards Human Rights protec7on in poli7cal systems nowadays and will deepen further into how well it is preserving. More importantly, will examine the advantages and nega7vity of Human Rights protec7on in a variety of countries. In the United States, there is a dignity in different races and gender equality that are not as well protected as it needed to be. The cons7tu7on found in the US have had certain equivalent to what is stated in the UDHF par7cularly within the fundamental rights of poli7cal and civil liber7es such as presump7on of a criminal trial and freedom of movement. U. S. courts provide a resolu7on for people whose cons7tu7onal rights have been violated. Nevertheless, there are certain aspects that were not recognised to be the rights according to the cons7tu7on in some of US states. One of them is the right to have adequate standard of living, which should priori7se them with basic necessi7es. With this inten7on in mind, it can be said that even in the US, that is known to be a country of freedom, yet its cons7tu7on did not well-address the actual issues faced by many homeless and people who have no access to technological advancement. For instance, the case study of George Floyd, a tragedy of person who was inten7onally killed by the police officer together with his colleagues because they judged him based on his skin colour. This raised people’s awareness of the inequality in our modern society not only with race, but also transgender from one to another as well. For this reason, there is a viral social media hashtag BlackLivesMa]er in pla^orms such as Twi]er, Facebook or even Instagram against misbehaviour and those whom racist others. Owing to the fact that, this is not the only case which happened to be violence used, many people around the world gathering together to protest and brought about some of the most vital agenda in the US history. Though, it is clearly state in the US cons7tu7on which allow its ci7zen to protest against their own cons7tu7on peacefully, yet the current president, Donald Trump, s7ll use military forces to fight back. In Britain, on the other hand, have been using uncodified, meaning it has always be unwri]en which make their country unique as there are only four countries in the world that s7ll applied this tradi7on whilst the rest have changed to codified one already. As such Bri7sh people have less protec7on of their rules of law than the US and other counterparts. According to the following reason, the Great Britain under Tony Blair as the government passed the Human Rights act in 1998. It is noted worthy that the Parliament s7ll responsible to made the ul7mate decision when people’s demand for change in legisla7on. Aber Tony Blair introduced the Human Rights Act (HRA) with the concept “bring rights home”, this made the European Conven7on as part of Bri7sh Law bodies to have a stronger protec7on to all UK ci7zens. However, it can be cancelled by the government by vo7ng in the Parliament. Likewise, the current Conserva7ve Government has a large majority of power and been discussed replacing the HRA with their own ‘Bill of Rights’. The rhetorical ques7on then remained how it will suit other country apart from England such as Northern Ireland and in Scotland that has its own act of which published in the same year as the HRA. Also, it is debatable whether Scotland have to amended its act or it can remain unchanged. Aside that, the HRA is uncommon amongst the general public, commentators and non-governmental organisa7ons whom cri7cised this act because it had substan7al influence on the UK law. Consequencesly, there are only small margin of people that support the HRA. In developing country, Thailand, for instance, have been dictated by the military aber flawed elec7ons held in 2019. The Prime Minister of Thailand, General Prayut Chan-ocha in his second 7me as the head of Minister was known to be unpopular, unprepared and being one of the worst leaders that Thai’s people ever votes for. Not only that but he also oben suppress the informa7on regards the monarch, restrictedly prohibited peaceful rallies. Most of the offenders may results in wide range of scales from ended up being arrested in jails or worst got assassinated by the authori7es. There is also a con7nuous armed conflicts going on between Muslim and Buddhism near the Southern border of the country that is connected to Malaysia. In September 2014, there was a miserable case of human rights ac7vist of ethnic called”Karen”, who was confirmed death aber has not been seen at Kaeng Krachan Na7onal Park from that point onwards. Taking this into an account, no progress in inves7ga7ons found, plus, the disappearance of several poli7cal ac7vists made the online broadcasts exiled cri7cising the claim that the monarchy himselves was responsible for ordered those ac7ons. Unfortunately, landless people and those living in poverty has sentenced by the judged of up to 10 years’ imprisonment for trespass, this including fourteen famers. The reflec7on of these circumstances are therefore raised people’s suspicious.
