In addition, there are a variety of historical events giving us many vital lessons that can be applied to daily life, for example, history may teach children how to honor their ancestors and respect the elderly, or how to appreciate everything that they have today. Furthermore, an increasing number of youngsters have a tendency of making the same mistakes over and over, but when they are exposed to history, they will be able to learn from past mistakes and avoid repeating the same ones in the future. Finally, history offers many crucial skills such as critical thinking and research abilities. By reading texts related to history students can refine their reading and writing skills, and in the study of history pupils have to search for information, so this gives them opportunities to find reliable sources.
