The Sun-photometer is a powerful tool for measuring the Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and Angstrom Exponent (AE). The Calitoo handheld Sun-photometer measures the AOD at 3 wavelengths of 465, 540, and 619 nm and calculates the AE at 665-465 nm. In this report, we review Calitoo measurements in Urmia city and the Rashkan region (next to Urmia Lake). Measurements were performed using Calitoo for 8 months. It started on November 1, 2020, and ended on June 17, 2021. During this period, 164 days of measurements were performed and 3786 levels 1 data were recorded. From this number of data, 1020 level 1.5 data were extracted. In addition to Calitoo measurements, we have used meteorological and Urmia air quality station data. From meteorological data, we examined temperature, visibility, wind speed, and direction. Our results show that for the whole measurement period, the mean AOD at 465, 540, 619 nm, and AE were 0.23, 0.19, 0.17, and 1. The average monthly AOD (AE) has been declining, indicat

The average monthly AOD (AE) has been declining, indicating a decrease in Aerosol (increasing of coarse to fine particles) in the atmosphere. Classification of pollutants based on AOD and AE shows that urban industrial pollution has the greatest impact on air pollution in this city. The correlation between AOD and PM10 and PM2. 5 particle concentrations was 0. 23 and 0. 10, respectively. The correlation between visibility and AOD at 465 nm and PM10 and PM2. 5 particle concentrations is 0. 44, 0. 19, and 0. 13, respectively. Comparison of AOD recorded by Calitoo and MODIS-Terra, MODIS-Aqua, and OMI shows that the correlation of AOD in their common wavelength is 0. 48, 0. 33, and 0. 01, respectively, so Calitoo results are closer to MODIS-Terra.
