Once upon a time, there were two brothers whose parents died early. They worked in an industrious way, therefore, they had enough fortune to make ends meet. Because of wanted a happier life, they got married. However, since the elder brother had a wife, he became lazy, all of the heavy work was done by the younger brother and his wife. Although the younger couple must do all the affairs, they didn’t complain about anything and still be joyful with what they had. They not only stayed up late and got up early but also tried to do the tilling, weed, and put down fertilizer. Therefore, they had a blessed harvest and had enough rice for their life. The lazy elder brother was afraid the younger brother would take over more property than he did, thus, he was so nervous and discussed with his wife. Finally, they decided to let the younger couple get their own place. The younger brother and his wife were given a bad-conditional cottage that had a sweet star fruit tree. The younger couple didn’t say any lament. They not only chopped wood and sold it in the market but are also hired to earn money. On the other hand, the elder brother let all of his arable lands for rent, so that he could be leisured with his wife. Because the younger couple didn’t say any complaints, the elder brother assumed his brother was thick-headed, therefore, he didn’t visit the younger brother’s house and took no notice of him. It could be said that the happiest day of the younger couple was the day the star fruit tree was ripened. They cultivated and caught insects such as worms and ants all year round. As a result, the tree was verdant, the shadow covered the small garden. It weighed down with so many fruits that they can be picked up by hand. One morning, the younger brother and his wife pick the star fruits to sell in the market, they accidentally saw a big bird was eating the fruits. Although it eyed the younger couple, it continued to eat leisurely and then, flew. Since then, every morning, the bird came to their house to eat fruits, for nearly a month. Therefore, the amount of the star fruits decreased significantly. One day, when the bird finished its meal, the wife said with a sad voice: “My house only has the tree to rely on. If you eat all of them, how can we earn money to buy rice? ” And it answered: “Eat one, return the gold department. Making three-gang bag, take it away”. The bird repeated this sentence three times and then flew. The younger couple heard the statement, despite being heard very clearly, they are still so confused and wavering. But finally, they followed the bird’s words. the wife sewed a three-gang bag by the old brown clothes. The next morning, when the younger brother finished his breakfast, there was a strong wind in the yard. The bird was in there, it make some sounds as if greeting. The husband brought the three-gang bag and went out. The bird lay down and gestured for him to climb up. The bird flapped its wings and flew up to the sky. When it flew high, that was like the clouds covered the gigantic bird, whereas, at low altitude, it skim the green forest and the rolling mountain. Then, it flew to the ocean, the waves moved and hit the cliff, which created the dazzling white sponge. Finally, it landed on an island have a large amount of stone: the white stone, the green stone, the red stone, and even the iridescent stone. They reflected the striking light which the younger brother has never seen before. The bird was down slowly at a cave. When the younger brother placed his foot on the island, he eyed everywhere and found out that there were no creatures. The bird made signs for him to go into the cave. At the cave door, he saw the glasses, the ambers, and diamonds. They had all of the colors such as green like cat’s eyes, red like the sun and jewelry was countless. The cave was deep and large, so the younger brother didn’t dare to go into it. He just took away a little of gold and diamonds. And then, he put them into the bag and motion to the bird to come back. The bird nodded its head, made some sounds and flapped its wings, then flew into the sky, through the ocean and forest. When the sun was high in the sky, the bird landed in the small yard which had the star fruit tree. Having seen the husband was safe, the wife was extremely jubilated and she stroked the birds’ feathers to express her gratitude. Then, she invited the bird to eat star fruits. After a while, the bird made three sounds to greet the younger couple and flew. Since then, the bird went to their home to eat once in a while. The rumor that the younger couple was suddenly well-off reached the ears of the elder brother. The older couple visited his brother’s house to probe. The younger brother told the whole of the truth. Then, the elder brother convinced the younger one to commute all of his property for the old cottage and the sweet star fruit tree. They were nervous that the younger couple didn’t agree; however, the young couple approved cheerfully immediately. The older couple were really jubilated, after giving all their fortune, the next morning, they moved to the younger brother’s house. They did nothing but sit in the yard and eyed the star fruit tree all day. They were waiting for the bird. One morning, they saw the treetops trembled and panic-stricken rushed. As a matter of fact, the big bird was there. The bird just ate some fruits, they said: “Our house has only the tree to rely on. If you eat all of them, how can we live? ” And it replied: “Eat one, return the gold department. Making three-gang bag, take it away”. Then, it flew. The older couple was extremely happy, worshipped the bird, and discussed to each other how to sew the bad. In the beginning, they intended to sew a lot of bags, but they worried that the bird didn’t agree to go, so they just sewed one bag, but this bag was triple the three-gang bag. The next morning, the elder brother was having breakfast. He saw the bird and skipped it to take the big bag and then went out in a rush, whereas the wife worshipped the bird incessantly. The bird flew into the sky, through the ocean and forest, and it also landed on the golden island. The elder brother was dazzled with the iridescence of many kinds of diamonds and gemstone. When he when into the cave, he was more bewitched, even forgot the hungry feeling, he just tried his best to pick up the gold and stuff it into the bag. The sleeve and trouser leg were also full of gold. It was so much that he couldn’t get out of the cave. Until it was nearly the decline of day, he drag the bag towards the place where the bird was waiting for. The bird flapped its wings and flew. But it was too heavy, it flew a short stretch of road, the bird swoop down. It called: “Throw little of gold to the sea! ” Due to having regretted his property, the elder brother not only didn’t take away any gold but also bound it into the bird’s wings. It became windier, the leaden wave was rising. The bird was exhausted and leaned its wings. The bid bag was pushed, the elder brother fell into the ocean. In the blink of an eye, the elder brother was caught by a wave and pulled under the deep ocean by the bag and the sleeve, trouser leg full of gold. The bird was wet for a time and then it rose up the water and flew back to the mountain and forest. It is obvious that because of greed, the elder brother didn’t save his life while the younger couple, whose good-natured and plain personality have a wealthy and happy life ever after.
