Overall, it is clear that in 2000 the amount of fuels use to produced electricity in both countries were almost double that of in 1980. While the totals of both countries were similar, there were big differences in the fuel source used. It is noticeable that the most significant source of energy in Australia was produced from coal, Coal production rate increase from 50 units our of 100 units to 130 units out of 170 units (nearly a three-quarter) in 2000. As hydropower, the figures slightly increase from 20 units to 30 units over the given period. Whereas, the remaining sources are oil and natural gas dropped dramatically from 10 units and 20 units respectively to 2units for both sources. Turning to the sources of energy use in France, it can be seen that more than half of the market consumed gas and oil, there was the similar amount of natural gas (25units) and oil (20units) used in the first year. However, in the year of 2000 oil production increase of a mere 5 units to 25 units, which less than one-third of the total market proportion. The largest source of energy was produced by nuclear power, the figure rose from 15 units to almost 120 units. The only source of energy that remain constant was coal at 25 units.
