The picture gives information about the process of waste water treatment. Overall, it can be seen that there are two stages for finishing this treatment and also two different results, it is sludge treatment and disposal and tertiary treatment. In the primary stage, we can see that water in the raw sewage falls to the screens and into to the comminutor. After that, the waste water passes through grit chamber where some grits will be thrown and other materials will enter to primary clarifier. In this area, there are two option to continue the process. First, the waste water drains to primary sludge and finish in sludge treatment and disposal. Second, the water result of filter pass to the primary effluent. Moving to next stage, the secondary treatment continues to primary effluent. It can be seen that the water flows to aeration tank and then passes through secondary clarifier. In this part, the water has two ways that are into secondary effluent and injected with disinfectant then finish in tertiary treatment or it will fall to activated sludge. For the latter, the water will enter to the return sludge pump or sludge treatment as last process. If it goes through the return sludge, so the water will be back to aeration tank again.
