I Pritamsinh ZALA, had a strong vision to develop and innovate new technology to bring about a change in society and lessen the burden on mankind. This ambition of mine made my mind crystal clear that I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. Hence, landing into Mechanical engineering bachelor's at the GUJARAT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY was the first step towards achieving my goal. I have a good academic record of marks throughout with 72 % in 10th grade, 7. 29 CGPA IN DIPLOMA MECHANICAL that provided me an edge to take admission in my undergraduate studies and I successfully passed my undergraduate with 7. 25 CGPA. During the second year of my undergraduate education and in diploma, I got an opportunity to work with the Technical PROJECT, its name is “DESIGN AND MODIFICATION OF BUILDING GLASS WASHER”and “180 DEGREE ROTATING TROLLY”. I have learned many things while working on both these projects but the best part was to make the design of both the machines. Initially, it was difficult but my professors helped me a lot in making such a complicated design of both the machine. They guided me basic about design field, like how The reason for the failure cannot be identified and also no repair work can be done on the machine. It is difficult to find the working load of a machine as the material used in the machine components and the reaction forces acting between the machine components may not be known.
Hence, machine design for any product is important to have the knowledge of some key factors like a lifetime, maximum working load, mode of failure, critical elements, and materials used.
Therefore, machine design is the most important part while creating a product.
The role of my professors is perhaps the biggest in helping me understand all the concepts of the subjects. They were ready to help whenever I needed it.
When I completed three years of my undergraduate program, I had a fair knowledge of the subjects and where they might lead me in the future. But as per my opinion, the scope and area of application of design engineering are probably more than any other subject today, although it is the first step to make any product or a machine. After completing my three programs I joined for an internship as a trainy engineer in TVS MOTORS for 6 months. The six months of industrial training after three years of my undergraduate program also gave me a very good idea about the various aspects of mechanical Engineering and Management.
Now, at this point in my career, I am certain that a postgraduate program would help me in the further application of the knowledge and skill that I have attained during the course of my graduation. Besides Canada is a rapidly growing country with a quality education system. Learning in supportive academic environments where professors are approachable and classrooms reflect the cultural diversity in Canada. The learning aspect is based on practical education as well as a theory but, Canada emphasizes more on practical study approach.
English Language Proficiency:
I scored 6. 5 Bands Overall in IELTS. . (L: 6. 5 | S: 6. 0 | R: 6. 5| W: 6. 0).
Finance:
I have paid 10, 015. 00 CAD as my tuition fees for one year to the University of Windsor and 10, 015. 00 CAD as my GIC in Scotia Bank to cover my living expenses.
Future Goals:
Nowadays production sectors are expanding and hence there is a huge demand for design professionals in India. After getting a post-graduate degree from Conestoga college, I plan to return to India to live with my parents. These days India is proving to be a pioneer in developing and executing technologies of the future, this is especially true for the field of manufacturing and management, where developers strive to find a solution to daily problems and aim to make human life smooth and easy. I feel that a post-graduate degree from an esteemed college like Conestoga will surely lend me to product-based companies like TATA GROUP, THERMAX, LARSEN & TOUBRO, etc as a highly-skilled design engineer when I return to India.
