The invention of computers marked the beginning of a technological era that has transformed civilization for the better and has become an integral part of our daily lives. Computer innovations have made it simpler to develop effective solutions to problems which seemed impossible, making life easier, more efficient, and bringing dreams closer to reality.
I was always captivated by computers as a kid and was fascinated by the changes brought by the advancements in computer. Given that my own life essentially coincided with the rise of the modern computer industry, I can feel that huge strides await us in this area. I decided to study computer science during my undergraduate studies in order to learn more about the subject in depth, and I would like to pursue a master's degree in computer science to further my knowledge in this expanding field.
My will to learn and academic aptitude have combined to make me a high-achieving student, with a 9. 6 CGPA in 10th grade. I chose computer science for my 12th grade since I was really interested in the topic and received a 94 percent. I originally learned the fundamentals of numerous programming languages, such as C++ and SQL, in high school. I began to look forward to computer lessons more than any other topic from that point forward. How a few lines of code can create a stunning website, as well as how simple data administration can be with SQL, piqued my curiosity.
I earned my bachelor's degree in computer science in order to expand my computer skills and pursue a career in the field. I was introduced to a variety of topics, including Object Oriented Languages, Data Structures, Algorithm Design and Analysis, and Database Management Principles, all of which piqued my interest. These topics were incredibly interesting, and they are utilized all the time to make our lives simpler. For example, since the introduction of SQL, database maintenance has become a fairly simple operation.
I interned at Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) during my second year of undergraduate studies, where I learnt about Enterprise Resource Management, networking, and SAP software, which helped me grasp how computers are used in the industrial sector. My desire to learn more about computers grew as a result of this.
Aside from language study, I worked on projects such as student attendance tracking system, which allows a student to check their attendance percentage for each course. The identification of emotions by micro-expression analysis was one of the key projects I worked on. With this project I learned more about machine learning and building neural networks for analysis. In addition, I also submitted a conference paper titled "Micro-Expression Recognition Using Time Distributed Convolutional and Recurrent Neural Network" to the First International Conference on Recent Trends in Artificial Intelligence, which was held on on June 29, 2021.
Following graduation, I worked as an associate at Guidehouse, a prominent global provider of consulting services to the public and private sectors with broad capabilities in management, technology, and risk management. This position allowed me to get valuable experience adjusting to various programming languages and systems, as well as gain knowledge of the computer business. It also demonstrated to me that each new technical progress and creation paves the way for even bigger future advances. With the information I will gain during my master's degree, I wish to continue contributing to this field.
In addition to the courses that I have taken, I have been very active outside of the classroom, participating in extracurricular activities and pursuing new experiences so as to push myself and broaden my horizons. I have also participated in cultural and athletic events, helping inculcate in me the various organizational skills. Active participation in various sports and extra-curricular activities brought out liveliness in my busy life.
