Should students take a gap year before college?

Should students take a gap year before college? BM9ow
As graduation approaches, students start making arrangements according to their intentions of what to pursue after the end of high school years. Some students opt for taking a year-long break before college before they proceed to the next academic venue. From my perspective, taking a gap-year before college is strongly advisable for students for the following reasons. Firstly, students can be given a sufficient amount of time to make judicious decisions. That is, by taking a gap-year prior to college attendance, students will be able to make up their minds on whether or not they should proceed to tertiary education and find out what they are genuinely passionate about. For example, some students might need to set aside some time to find out what subjects they wholeheartedly want to study in depth or what career paths they are following. On the contrary, those who have to pay for tuition fees before being able to make definite decisions will have to wait for more years to enter the career field they are ambitious about. This directly suggests how crucial it is for students to take some time off before deciding to continue their academic years. Moreover, students are able to learn more about different things the world has to offer. To be more specific, taking a year off before college helps students make some time for travelling to gain better insights into astonishing world facts. Take travelling abroad as an illustration for this, students who are galvanized into travelling to a variety of places outside their countries are bound to make new acquaintances, which not only broaden their social circles, but also broaden their understandings of different cultures or traditions. What can be inferred from this is that a year-long break before entering college facilitates friendship, as well as helping students to gain a better grasp of the world. Based on what has been discussed, it is my firm opinion that students should take a gap year before they proceed to their college years. Students are offered the opportunity to discover their ambitions and thus, be able to make up their minds about their purposes of studying. In addition, students can flourish socially and expand their worldviews thanks to travelling. However, it is also essential for students to be mindful of their time management skills in order to maximize the advantages of their year-long break.
