I've always been interested in having a profession in healthcare, and I greatly enjoy learning chemistry, so I believe Pharmacy would be a great fit for me. Pharmacists serve as a vital link between the doctor and the patient in ensuring that medications are used safely and effectively. My father's diabetic condition piqued my interest in drug chemistry and caused me to realise the importance of understanding how medications function. Organic Chemistry also interests me how diverse medications may be generated from the same materials. It appears incredible at first, until the relevance of functional groups is recognized. Math is helping me build problem-solving abilities that are important for determining dose, while Science's interactive element has helped me interpret my knowledge in data analysis. Biology experiments honed my analytical and evaluative skills, while Physics taught me how to accurately apply mathematical procedures to physical notions. To learn more about the pharmacy profession, I began reading articles in medical journals such as' The Lancet 'and' The Pharmaceutical Journal. ' As a result, I've been able to stay up to date on new medical advancements. After reading an article in the New England Journal of Medicine on a treatment trial involving 71 people with active Crohn's disease, it became clear to me that pharmaceuticals have physiological effects on the body. The placebo caused a 39 percent improvement in the patients' symptoms, according to the study. This article further reinforces my desire to pursue a profession in pharmacy by demonstrating the multiple options the pharmaceutical industry gives to improve a patient's quality of life and heal In high school, I was chosen to be a prefect which required keeping order, issuing instructions, and assisting younger students. These commitments gave me a lot of accountability and taught me how to handle my responsibilities in a fair and just manner. It also taught me how to work as part of a team and how to define my role in order to help the community. In addition, I was a member of a group formed to improve mental health awareness in schools. My lack of expertise on mental health was highlighted at the start of the process, but after more research, using the Pharmaceutical Journal's online articles and other resources, I discovered that as little as £10 was allocated per head of the population with a mental health problem. However, I am hopeful that extensive promotion, such as the posters and keychains distributed by my group around the school, will raise awareness and persuade the government to increase financing. Moreover, my communication skills have improved as a result of my part-time job as a promoter at a decoration store. This has allowed me to use my initiative and communicate with a variety of people in a variety of scenarios, such as dealing with customer service issues. This has allowed me to develop responsibility, which I know will be necessary in the pharmacy field. I also did volunteer work in a Covid-19 facility, where I observed the various roles and tasks that kept the pharmacy running, such as the Resident Pharmacist who reviewed patients in a private room and the Technicians who handled prescriptions. Pharmacy's ever-changing and growing nature is what draws me to this profession. It would be rewarding to be a part of such a diversified profession and make a lot of difference. I realize the degree's difficulty and the effort required to accomplish it, but I believe I can overcome these obstacles to become a Pharmacist, be on the cutting edge of scientific development, and aid our population. And this, in my opinion, is the ultimate prize.
