Last year, I was decided to join a summer retreat at Quan Am Pagoda. At first, I was worried because there were a lot of strangers there. Fortunately, the novices were divided into different groups according to their age, so it was easy for me to make new friends. The scenery here is so peaceful. Every day, we wake up at 5 a. m to meditate. Waking up early makes me quite sleepy but meditating is really good. Next, we have breakfast. Vegetarian food is delicious and varied. The evening is a common activity for everyone to exchange and sing. The teachings of the Buddhist teacher about family and life are very meaningful. I already know what gratitude is. It was really a memorable trip, I made many new friends and learned valuable lessons.
