Introduction? ACADEMICS BACKGROUND? WHY NOT MY HOME COUNTRY: NEPAL? WHY UK AND NOT OTHER COUNTRIES? Scope: Computer Science (Hons) IT

INTRODUCTION I want to introduce myself as Mr Sabin Koju, permanent resident of Taulachhen, Bhaktapur. I was born on 11th Feb 1998 A. D. With the pursuit of turning my passion for professionalism, I am exploring my chances of getting enrolled at the University of Greenwich. I believe that I am potential enough to meet all the requirements to get enrolled in the mentioned course in this honourable institution with my sound academics. With heartfelt gratitude and sheer delight, I would like to pen down my Statement of Purpose that includes my academics qualification, ambition, the reason for choosing a particular Nation, particular university, and particular course. ACADEMICS BACKGROUND Concerning my academics, I have always been a dedicated and hardworking student. I have completed my schooling in 2014 at Wise Land Secondary School, Jagati –Bhaktapur with 70% on SLC held by Higher Secondary Education Board. In 2016 A. D, I completed my high school at Bagiswori Higher Secondary School, Chyamshing- Bhaktapur with 56%. Due to my keen interest in computer science, I joined the Bachelor of Computer Science(Hons)-IT in Sunway International Business School, Maitidevi- Kathmandu affiliated to Infrastructure University in 2016 and passed out with 2. 9CGPA in 2019. On 6th Feb 2021, I gave IELTS Academic Test and scored an overall 6. These days, the industry of information technology has marked as one of the fastest-growing fields; it comes with a great variety which makes it even more interesting and exciting. The dream of becoming an IT Specialist fascinates me so much that I started to engage myself in deep research about Universities and Colleges around the world. After having enough research and counselling from professionals I concluded by choosing the University of Greenwich, the UK as my master's level study destination. WHY NOT MY HOME COUNTRY: NEPAL The education system of Nepal is theoretically based which teaches the reasoning techniques and theory of knowledge whereas I believe that a practical-based education system makes students independent and increases their confidence. So, to get advanced education and globally accepted degrees along with a practical approach and best teaching methods, I am willing to pursue a master in the UK. As the demand for an IT enthusiast, is increasing exponentially in the country, so do the students, and the limited good institution here are unable to accommodate all the students. This has led many students to look abroad for their education. Moreover, the teaching approach is still traditional and follows the old and primitive system. The courses are primarily based on theories even at the master level rather than practical which is not reliable. WHY UK AND NOT OTHER COUNTRIES While surfing through the different websites, official and unofficial, I came across many information among which some were reliable and some were not. So, to get the correct information I contacted one of the seniors from my school who has graduated from the UK and is currently working here in Nepal. He mentioned the study scopes and different options in the UK. I was fascinated by the fact that not only Nepal, UK education quality has lured students globally. There are several reasons for my interest in pursuing higher education in the UK such as affordable tuition fees despite providing quality education. Achieving a globally recognized qualification in an excellent learning environment along with the safest living environment is the main feature of the UK education system, so it can be called without hesitation the best in the world. Furthermore, the degree provided by UK University is considered better and appreciated all over the world and graduates from the UK are very successful to get the job opportunity anywhere in the world. The diverse society provides the ultimate platform for people of all cultural backgrounds to adjust very quickly and feel comfortable. People get to know the taste of various traditions, foods, art, festivals in many countries. Thus, the UK provides the perfect blend of quality education, quality life, excellent policies, and courses that has indeed motivated me to study in the UK. I too researched the educational program in other international countries. But I didn’t find other countries to be as appealing as the UK for education. The American universities are known to have been facing increasing crime rates, mass shooting issues, etc. which would be the last option for students like me who are seeking heaven to study. Secondly, the tuition fee in the USA is out of bounds in comparison with the UK, depending on the universities I choose. Additionally, European countries like Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, etc. provide quality education but I did not prefer it due to the language barrier as learning their local language is time-consuming. Therefore, based on the aforementioned reason, I considered the UK as a suitable education destination. Scope: Computer Science (Hons) IT As I mentioned earlier Information Technology is the fastest growing service sector in the world. This is the dynamic and global industry which has been the most job providing sector even in my country among the youths. Adopting business ideas and turning the idea into reality by applying tools and techniques is something that I am an expert in. So by turning my ideas into a pro-business plan, I can come up with something new in this field by providing jobs to people of different levels. IT professionals are responsible for designing, developing, supporting and managing computer hardware, software, and information networks, including the internet. Upon completion of this program, I will be able to assist in the implementation of these IT activities, including skills needed for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. I think there won’t be a lack of career opportunities. Why the University of Greenwich? The degree of the University of Greenwich has global recognition as well as it will demonstrate that I have thrived and succeeded in an endeavour outside of my comfort zone. The affordable tuition fee and quality education from some of the world’s best minds attract me the most. The course design seems more promising. Even while comparing the tuition fees with different Universities in the UK, I found that this particular university has fulfilled the criteria of quality education, employability, affordability, teaching method, environment, its facilities, transportation, student life, and mainly its location and found it to be the best among the pack. The links with industry partners make sure that I am equipped and able to meet the challenges of enterprise in the digital age. Final words: I believed that technology has taken over almost everything and the skills-oriented person will be applicable practically in every industry that runs in today’s technology-dependent world. So after the completion of my curriculum and experience, I will genuinely return to Nepal and use my knowledge to contribute to the IT sector of my country. My ultimate goal has always been to serve the people of my nation. After returning I will use the skills either to start something of my own or devote an international company in my country as a loyal and humble employee. Furthermore, as a Nepalese Citizen, the country also expects me to contribute to its prosperity and development. Therefore, I believe that due to the afro mentioned reason I will return to my country, and contribute to national prosperity.
