The quality of images produced by cameras are impressing, and in recent times, pictures have become a stronger means of relaying information across to people than writing. I, however, completely agree with this notion for a number of reasons.
To begin with, videos are always more precise than hand-written letters. Recently, people are usually not patient enough to scan through every word written down and sent to them because they easily get bored of reading, especially when the content is too long. Furthermore, they may have other important agenda in need of their attention and as such, would not have the luxury of time to concentrate on getting the message been communicated. However, pictures relays information in straightforward manner, with the information well compressed into one or two slides, therefore, requiring lesser time to scheme through and allowing one to multi-task with other activities. For example, I try to summarize my lecture notes into pictures to enable me finish revising the syllabus during exam period. This saves my time and makes me cover so many topic.
In addition, drawings are more conspicuous and entertaining. This is especially true for children as they are well captivated by animations and appreciate the fact that they come in various colors, sizes and shapes, making them fascinated. Moreover, these characters are very entertaining because they communicate just like human beings by talking, singing and eating, making the children able to understand the message been conveyed effectively. For instance, my three month old cousin cries whenever he is writing his school assignment but immediately stops crying when Nickeledon cartoon is played. This goes to show that videos are more entertaining than writing.
To conclude, I totally agree that carvings are more preferable than penned notes in conveying information as they are more eye-catching, interesting and straightforward.
