In 2008, around 15% of the urban households had internet access but less than 5%of the rural homes had access to internet. In 2009, there was a huge increase in the number of urban homes with internet from 15% in 2008 to 30% in 2009. However, the rural homes only saw a slight increase to 5%. Over the next two years urban homes gained 10% each year, reaching 50% overall in 2011. Meanwhile, the number of rural homes getting internet access is also increase 5% each year reaching 15% overall in 2011. The rate of urban homes getting internet access slowed down in 2012 and 2013 only climbing around 5% in the two years but the number of rural homes getting internet access has exponentially grown climbing 10% each year.
