Education undoubtedly plays a vital role in one’s life. The debate about whether children should receive a school education or must be home-schooled is an ongoing one. While both types of schooling have its own merits, I believe the benefits of sending students to school outweighs that of home education. This essay will further elaborate the advantages of a formal school education. To begin with, a school education is a mandatory criterion to receive an admit to many graduate courses and jobs. Professional courses like MBBS, engineering require students to complete full-time high school education to be eligible to apply. Nowadays, many corporate jobs and even government services have mandated the completion of formal foundational education. Furthermore, schools have better availability of resources that is required in various phases of learning. There are well-qualified subject teachers, and numerous laboratory equipment, all of these provide not only theoretical knowledge but only the practical implementation of concepts. Additionally, schools have a range of books at the library that can be referred to for assignments, research or simply leisure. Moreover, pupils are exposed to real-life situations at schools, which they may not otherwise experience at home, and these experiences help children develop their social skills which contribute to their overall growth. Participation in extra-curricular activities like sports, theatre events, group projects instill qualities of teamwork, ability to cope with peer pressure and bullying.
