The reading and the lecture are both about the alternative strategies to combat the malaria disease. The author of the article presents three main points about the elimination of the disease. The lecture of refutes the claims made in the article. His position is that unfortunately treatment of malaria is very difficult to eradicate because ancient drugs can treat malarial not cure. Moreover, these parasites are now resistance to most of the drugs. First, the writer claims that patients can be treated with effective medicines. Furthermore, it is stated in the article that before treatment strain of the parasite should be identified and accordingly durgs should be administered for effective treatment of the patient. In contrast, the lecturer argues that which drug should be used for particular malarial strain it is very difficult because most of the strains are resistance to the drugs and differen reagion has different type of strains and it is difficult to treat the malarial parasite with this strategy. Second, the author mentions that killing parasite using chemical spray will be effective agains the parasite. On top of that, he adds that releasing the fish into the water to pray the parasite or larva will be effective against the parasite. However, the lecturer calls this arguement in to question by saying that chemicla spray will not kill the malarial because mosquitoe adult will fly away from the chemical spray. Further, he remarks that in the same ways fish cannot kill the mosquitoes, even they will fly away. Finally, the author assests that using the radiation method mosquitoes can be sterile. In addtion to that author, in the article it is mentioned that if sterile mosuitoes mate with fertile female they will produce egg which will not hatch. As opposed to the author, the lecturer holds that It may be useful technique but it will be harmless for parasite sterile mosquitoes may be unattractive to mate
