After being renovated, the house started its new function as a cultural and touristic complex. The architecture of Yazd Art House The house’s entrance is made of adobe and clay. After passing a small Hashti (vestibule), with a stucco ceiling and a narrow corridor, you’ll reach the yard. There are buildings on the northern, southern and western sides of the yard. In order to be harmonies with the other three buildings, there are vaults on the east side of the Yard. There is a not too tall wind catcher on the southern part of the house and on the northern part; there is a splendid Panjdari (a five door room) with stucco and mirror work decorations on its ceiling and walls. Also there is a Sedari (a three door room) on the east part. There is a small yard on the western side of the main yard and behind the house’s hall. The connection between the main yard and the small yard is made through the corridors built on the sides of the hall. In the architecture of traditional Persian Houses, this small yard is called Narenjestan. In some houses, it was a covered small yard with trees like sour oranges (Narenj) and flowers like Jasmine. As you enter the house, you find a handicraft shop and an art gallery, with precious displays of Yazd artists, on the first floor. In the upstairs there is a beautiful, cozy, traditional café. Thatched walls, short tables and polish chairs, traditional music and delicious herbal drinks, all together will make a remarkable experience of your visit. Bam-e-Yazd The rooftop of this building is called Bam-e-Yazd, meaning Yazd’s rooftop. As you can sit or walk or watch the sunset, the landscape and the magnificent sky of Yazd, will certainly amaze you.
