The maps illustrates the transformation of a coastal town named Felixstone over a thirty five - year period. The maps also describe new amenities that were established after years. From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that, Felixstone had turned from a harbour city into a seaside city specializing in resort services, with the removal of pier and fish market and the appearance of new facilities and upgraded infrastructure catering to the needs of recreation, health-care and renewable energy source. However, to broaden swimmable area in the sea, the pier, marina and had to be got rid of what came at the expense of yacht services. Taking a closer look at the maps we can see that to the north of the area, the number of shop on the right of the high street drastically increased while all the shops on the left were changed to apartment. In the northestern corner, a spacious farmland was underwent conversion into a modern hotel including a swimming pool and 2 tennis courts. Although to the northwest of Felixstone, there were a lot changes, the golf course still remained the same on the left of shops. More changes had taken place on thr other side of the main road. Specifically, the marina and pier were demolished, giving space for a public beach. Above the public beach was a coffee shop which located the same as it had been in 1967. While there was a drastic change taking place on the left of the café, the small hotel was changed to a hotel with wide space for car parking. In the southeastern corner, a private beach was built on the site where the fish market had been in 1967. While in the southwest, it was not much change except for the establishment of wind. turbines.
